AVA Software Levels - compatible devices

Select your Apparatus set up and Add devices

  • Select Apparatus background that matches your reaction setup
  • Select up to four Apparatus setups
  • Create new or open existing Apparatus templates
  • Select and name devices
  • Set device parameters and safety limits
  • Link devices for dual control e.g. pump and balance for gravimetric additions

Select Direct or Schedule control

  • Control devices directly via the apparatus window or:
  • Use the Schedule Window to create experiment profiles e.g. create ramps, plateaus and timed actions

Track and Repeat

  • Track what you do, as you do it and record all actions
  • Repeat and refine the schedule to optimise the experiment
  • This clever feature enables automation of a manual process with ease and without any programming knowledge

Graph data and modify experiments on-the-fly

  • View real-time graphs
  • Stop, pause or skip steps and modify experiments mid-run
  • Add or remove steps as the timeline progresses
  • Add notes in the Event log

Enhanced safety for unattended operation 24/7

  • Set individual device warning alarms
  • set emergency safe conditions or reaction shutdown if a sensor limit is exceeded
  • Create safety feedback loops e.g. control a pump addition by process temperature
  • Set user-definable limits or parameters for all devices

Create reports and share data

  • Automatically logs and saves all data
  • The report wizard creates detailed reports in rich text format (for word processing) or CSV (for spreadsheets)
  • Share experiments and results with other AVA users

AVA Lab Control Software-Data Hub

Data Hub

Integrate devices with an RS232 serial interface

  • Using the Data Hub, AVA Software can connect, control and log data from multiple 3rd party devices with an RS232 serial interface
  • Designed to work exclusively with the AVA Control Software to ensure a fast set-up and reliable connection from the PC to multiple RS232 devices
  • The Data Hub will integrate serial devices including stirring hotplates, overhead stirrers, circulators, balances, peristaltic pumps, syringe pumps, vacuum pumps, balances, pH sensors and gas flow controllers

Scaling up exothermic additions in the lab - On Demand

Webinar: Scaling up exothermic additions in the lab

Are you currently using beakers, dropping funnels and syringes to dose your reactions with a liquid reagent? How long do you stand around tweaking your drip rate? What if you had software that could control those liquid additions, with the benefits of data logging, feedback loops and safety overrides.

Achieve consistency in process scale up - On Demand

15 min Webinar: Consistent Scaling Up

Scaling up chemical reactions can present a number of challenges with respect to efficient mixing, mass transfer, controlling exothermic reactions, heat transfer and reaction kinetics.

In this webinar we discussed some simple guidelines which apply when scaling chemical reactions up or scaling down to predict or reproduce conditions observed in the larger scale manufacturing environment.

How to run unattended experiments safely - On Demand

Webinar: Are you running your overnight reactions safely?

Are you running your overnight reactions unsafely? Lab control software can help you perform safe and efficient unattended reactions

In this webinar we will discuss how reactions can be data logged as well as safety feedback loops put in place to ensure that reactions can be left unattended overnight or longer by using lab control software.

Automation of chemical processes and remote data logging in R&D laboratories - On Demand

Webinar: Automation of chemical processes and remote data-logging in R&D laboratories

This webinar will be a case study of a scale-up group, using an automated addition to control an exothermic reaction, and the use of safety feedback loops to pause and restart the addition based on process temperature. At this time of social distancing in our laboratories when we need to minimise the number of people in the lab, automation and data-logging can help.
