Change the stirring direction of your impeller

Did you know that you can change the stirring direction on our Hei-TORQUE Ultimate overhead stirrer?

The Hei-TORQUE Ultimate overhead stirrer is ideal for demanding tasks which require reproducible results or software control. This advanced model has a menu driven interface, and RS232 and USB connectivity for connection to control software. On top of this the overhead stirrer allows you to change rotation direction of your impeller.

Changing stirring direction can be beneficial for a number of applications, for example when using pitched blade turbine impellers. The geometry of the impeller blades means that the flow of liquid is directed towards the bottom of the vessel when stirred clockwise. However, some applications such as gas dispersions and floating solid mixing, benefit from the liquid flow being directed upwards. This can be achieved by changing the impeller stirring direction to anticlockwise on your overhead stirrer.

To change the stirring direction of your Hei-TORQUE Ultimate, follow these steps:
– Press the Menu button
– Use the dial to select ‘Setup’
– Use the dial to select ‘Direction’
– Select either ‘Left’ or ‘Right’ depending on your preference
– Press the Home button to return to the main screen
